Vitaly Magidov Ukrainian-born Orphan Author of his Memoir and Storyteller

Vitaly Magidov is a Ukrainian-born author and survivor whose powerful voice rises from the margins of post-Soviet orphanages, foster care, and the struggle for identity in a repressive society. Abandoned at age six and raised behind iron bars, his early life was defined by trauma, solitude, and the search for self-worth in a world that silenced him.

After aging out of the Ukrainian foster care system, Vitaly emigrated to the United States with only a few dollars and a dream. He taught himself English, built a career, and found the courage to share his story — not as a victim, but as a voice for others. In his debut memoir, VITALY: The Misadventures of a Ukrainian Orphan, he offers a raw, heartfelt narrative of survival, queer resilience, and healing.
